hert: trauma & triumph

hert is a podcast about the trauma and triumphs of women, female athletes and those for whom body and career are deeply and permanently linked. We aim to shine a light on the stories of incredible women that overcome enormous hurdles both in their personal and professional lives. Each week, we will interview someone whose body is a cornerstone of their career. We will discuss their accomplishments, challenges, experiences and perspective on everything from femininity, sexuality, motherhood, rivalries, public expectation, trauma and more. No two women are the same, so no two stories are- and our goal is to honor our guests while inspiring our listeners. As women, we ask so much of our bodies. hert aims to celebrate, commiserate and empathize with the brave women that share their stories- the good, the bad and the ugly- with us. An important note- hert is an inclusive community where both the terms ‘female’ and ‘athlete’ are open to interpretation. Anyone who ever has, currently does or hopes to someday identify as a woman is welcome here. We also believe the gender spectrum is broad and beautiful- trans, non-binary or anyone who has arrived at a gender identity that makes them feel like their most authentic self is also welcome here. On athletes, we believe you don’t need to be an olympian to be an athlete. (Though we will be interviewing a few!) We will talk to physical trainers, stunt women, doctors, police officers, dancers, sex workers, singers, teachers and more. If you or someone you know has a story you’d like to tell, we are always accepting applications. Email us at hertpod@gmail.com with a brief description of who you are, what you do and any detail you think would make you a good fit for our podcast. Triumph on, Katie Pynn
